JUWO

Working as a way-finding system yet intervention in space, our work for the new building of JUWO, the Youth Housing Cooperation of Zurich, is a renunciation of the building's past and an outlook on its future.

By combining Art Deco and Post-Modernism, Wild Architekten transformed «Haus Eber» a former 19th-century building into a new landmark in the Aussersihl neighborhood of Zurich by working with Industrial components to gap the bridge between the former industrial heritage of the neighborhood and the elegance of the Art-Deco building itself. Our way-finding system works the same way by using construction components for orientation but also takes a look at the history of the building in typography. Upcycling serves in this project not just as a concept it also optimizes the costs and works as an intervention in space.
